Frankfurt am Main/Germany. Around 70 career and honorary consuls from all over the world visited the Frankfurt-based high-tech company BioSpring as part of the annual information tour organized by the Hessian State Chancellery. This gives the international representatives insight into Hesse’s culture, history, and economic performance. This year, BioSpring—a global leader in nucleic acid-based therapeutic ingredients—was deliberately chosen as an example of innovation and industrial excellence.
“We are delighted to welcome guests from many regions of the world today,” said Uwe Leitermann, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of BioSpring. “Our high-tech products are supplied to customers across the globe, and we are a preferred partner for multinational pharmaceutical companies.”
After an introductory presentation by CFO Leitermann, the consuls had the opportunity to view the company’s cleanroom production facilities and a quality control laboratory at its headquarters in Frankfurt-Fechenheim. There, BioSpring manufactures revolutionary DNA- and RNA-based active pharmaceutical ingredients that open entirely new therapeutic potentials for medicine—medicines of tomorrow. These substances have the potential to cure diseases completely, rather than merely treating their symptoms as conventional therapies do. This applies both to rare diseases such as sickle cell anemia and, at the same time, to widespread conditions such as cancer, Alzheimer’s, and hypertension.
The consular visitors were impressed by the company’s services and capabilities and, during the two-hour visit, gained deeper insights into the fascinating world of active pharmaceutical ingredients through discussions with BioSpring specialists.
BioSpring has already hosted high-ranking political guests on several occasions. In January, the Hessian state government convened at the company’s headquarters. In July, BioSpring broke ground for a new production facility in Offenbach together with Boris Rhein and Dr. Felix Schwenke, Mayor of Offenbach. The company is investing a three-digit million euro amount in this site and plans to create around 200 new jobs there.
